Michael Cameron
I have been training and practising in counselling and psychotherapy since 1991, with a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, beginning with Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) and expanding into a range of evidence-based cognitive approaches. Alongside my CBT expertise, I have completed additional training in psychodynamic, humanistic, schema-focused therapy, EMDR, and clinical supervision, enabling me to tailor treatment to each person's needs. As an accredited member of both the BABCP and the EMDR Association UK & Ireland, I work extensively with trauma, PTSD, anxiety disorders, and longstanding patterns of emotional distress, integrating EMDR and cognitive approaches to help clients process difficult experiences and develop healthier beliefs about themselves. I have a particular interest in the role of imagery and self-talk in maintaining emotional difficulties, using these insights to support meaningful and lasting psychological change.
