Listing managed by this therapistI work with children, adolescents, and adults, integrating evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), interpersonal psychotherapy, family-based interventions, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist, a German Board-Certified Psychotherapist, and a member of Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA). I hold a degree in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy from AKIP at the University Hospital Cologne, Germany. Before relocating to Aberdeen in 2018, I worked as a psychotherapist at the German Neuroscience Centre in Dubai. Having lived and worked in different cultural settings, I value providing a warm, collaborative, and culturally sensitive therapeutic environment. I am fluent in English, German, and Turkish. As an accredited EMDR therapist, I help clients process traumatic memories and distressing life experiences that continue to affect their well-being. EMDR is an evidence-based psychotherapy that supports the brain's natural ability to process traumatic experiences, helping to reduce emotional distress and promote lasting recovery. It can be effective for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, phobias, grief, and a range of other psychological difficulties. More information about EMDR is available on my Blog.
