Derek Farrell
I am a Principal Lecturer in Psychology and the convener of the MSc EMDR Degree at the University of Worcester, as well as an EMDR Therapy Europe Accredited Trainer and Consultant. My career has spanned leadership roles, including President of EMDR UK & Ireland and President of Trauma Aid Europe, and I remain deeply committed to humanitarian trauma capacity building across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East—most recently developing EMDR training in Iraq with the Free Yezidi Foundation and the Jiyan Foundation for Torture and Human Rights. My PhD research explored survivors' experiences of clergy-perpetrated sexual abuse, a subject I have continued to write about for over twenty years. In my clinical practice, I bring this breadth of experience—as an educator, researcher, and frontline therapist—to support adults affected by complex and relational trauma, offering a deeply informed and compassionate space for healing.
